Chhattisgarh Launches ‘Sewa Pakhwada’ from Sept 17 to Celebrate PM Modi’s Birthday with Village Services

In line with other BJP-led states, the Chhattisgarh government, headed by Chief Minister Vishnu Deo Sai, has announced a comprehensive plan to observe ‘Sewa Pakhwada’, a fortnight-long public service initiative from September 17 to October 2. This period marks Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s birthday on September 17 and concludes on Mahatma Gandhi’s birth anniversary on October 2.


Statewide Initiatives for Public Service

During ‘Sewa Pakhwada’, various government departments and organizations across Chhattisgarh will implement a series of programs aimed at benefiting citizens. Chief Minister Vishnu Deo Sai stated:

“The fortnight-long initiative starting on PM Modi’s birthday will include diverse activities focused on serving the people of Chhattisgarh. All departments and agencies have prepared tailored plans to maximize public benefit.”

The campaign will officially kick off after PM Modi inaugurates ‘Sewa Pakhwada’ during his visit to Madhya Pradesh on September 17.


Key Programs and Community Services

Deputy Chief Minister Vijay Sharma emphasized that the initiative will go beyond urban centers to reach remote villages. Planned activities include:

  • Statewide cleanliness drives

  • Medical and blood donation camps

  • Issuance of driving licenses for youth

  • Conflict resolution between local gram panchayats

“We aim to ensure services reach every corner of the state, especially underserved villages,” said Deputy CM Sharma.

He further shared a personal note about PM Modi:

“Every interaction with the Prime Minister inspires renewed energy. His dedication to public service motivates all of us in government.”

On September 17, PM Modi will visit Dhar in Madhya Pradesh, a predominantly tribal district, to flag off multiple service programs. Key highlights include:

  • Laying the foundation stone of ‘PM MITRA Park’, a major project aimed at transforming the region into a textile industry hub
