PM Modi’s Address to Indian Community in Kuwait
Prime Minister Narendra Modi, during his speech at the ‘Hala Modi’ event in Kuwait, expressed his delight at witnessing the rich diversity of the Indian community in the Middle Eastern country, calling it a “mini-Hindustan.”
“Just 2-2.5 hours ago, I arrived in Kuwait, and from the moment I stepped foot here, I felt a deep sense of warmth and belonging. Though you come from various states in India, seeing you all together here feels like a ‘Mini Hindustan’ has gathered before me,” said PM Modi at the Shaikh Saad Al Abdullah Indoor Sports Complex in Kuwait City.
Strong Historical Ties Between India and Kuwait
PM Modi highlighted the strong historical relationship between India and Kuwait, dating back to the 19th century. He noted that the two countries had vibrant trade relations during that period.
“Our elders in Gujarat still remember how Kuwaiti traders learned Gujarati, wrote books in it, and traded their famous pearls in our markets. In return, we supplied horses and many other goods. The bond between India and Kuwait has been enduring,” he said.
